The term IDIOTBOX hails from the author’s column in high school. He then used it again as the name of his free-hosted website circa 2006 2007.

IDIOTBOX keeps the author’s anecdotes, opinions, reviews, news, and, generally, ramblings on the madness of this universe. Much like television— the powerful, cultivating mass medium that has advented to the public in the 1920s-30s, and the synonym of the blog’s title— IDIOTBOX can make or break the reader’s outlook, way of life or, worse, identity.

THE NON-BLOGGER

Barry Cyrus doesn’t consider himself a blogger, FYI. For him, being a blogger translates to applying ethics, responsibility and accountability in your work— the foremost things he can’t seem to be on the same page with. As of posting time, though, he says he’s been trying to be.

Barry blogs writes because it’s his life. He’s been writing since he was five, when he made a crappy tale about a noisy cat. He then realized that writing was his ~calling*~ in high school up to college at the University of the Philippines where he studied journalism (and speech communication). After absorbing doom in school, he again found writing as a source of income. He worked as a sports and lifestyle writer for a broadcast network news website. As of the moment, he finds cash from a lot of editorial assisting and freelance writing.

Barry writes a lot of things including sports, hipsters, imbecile politicians, Katy Perry’s awesomeness, and how to be James Franco when he’s old. Or to become Bob Mitchum when he’s older.
